Once you arrive at the gate of the house you will immediately notice the incredible view of the Central Cordillera. You will also see the rolling hills of this 10.7 ha (26.5 acres) property which ends on the other side of the Pocrà river. The river is bordered by dense forestation. The road to this finca from the community of Villarreal is not paved, but it is easily accessible year-round.
The finca has been divided in different sections with pasture land for the two horses belonging to the owners, as well as areas planted with teak trees, sour cedars and cassavas.
Once you passed the elegant iron main gate you will see the nice carport, a huge storage room and the fancy laundry room with its granite folding area. The particular thing that draws people´s attention about the elegant house is the finishing of the walls. It is probably the smoothest glazing finishing we have ever seen. The walls do not require to be painted as the colour is mixed with the smooth concrete finish. This technique was taught to local Panamanians by a visiting Marocan artisan.
All the pillars, columns and beams are made with thick amargo-amargo wood, a special wood found in the area. The clay tiled roof gives this nice structure a distinctive look. An extra-thick waterproof membrane was installed under the tiles to ensure decades of leak free roof. The same look is also found on the main house.
The house is small but very charming, built with all the commodities you will find in any European or American house. At the back of the house you will find the electric water heater tank, the propane tanks for the stove, and the emergency power generator located in highly secure built-in storage spaces with nice solid wood doors.
The main feature of the house is the roofed terrace from which you have spectacular views of the mountains and the whole property. From that unique living space, you can access the modern kitchen, the comfortable living room, the spacious bedroom and the tastefully finished bathroom and large walk-in closet.
